The Elounda Village Resort & Spa ***** Adults Only is perfectly poised on the banks of Mirabello Bay, in Crete. This luxurious hotel finds itself 15km away from Voulismeni Lake and 16km away from the Ágios Nikólaos Archelogical Museum.
PLANE
The main airport in Crete, and closest to the hotel, is Heraklion International Airport, “Nikos Kazantzakis” (HER). It sits around 5 km to the east of Heraklion city center, near the municipality of Nea Alikarnassos.
A large number of airlines operate flights to Heraklion Airport, from a large number of cities across Europe, however it should be noted that most international flights to the airport operate seasonally, mostly during the summer. You may have to fly first to Athens and take a second flight or a boat from there.
HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL
- By taxi: taxis are available round the clock outside Crete Airport, and are surprisingly economical. The hour long journey to the hotel costs on average 60€-80€ depending on traffic. Make sure you find a metered taxi to avoid being charged too much!
FERRY
You can arrive to Crete by ferry, as there are departures to Heraklion everyday from the ports of Athens Piraeus. The journey lasts 8 hours and you can make bookings via the website AFerry.
