The Creuse River carves a steep valley through the rolling hills of the Limousin countryside, where lush green meadows, sprawling forests and meandering streams dominate the surrounding landscape, punctuated here and there by farms, scenic villages or grand châteaux. In this peaceful setting, the Château de la Cazine sits majestically at the foot of a hill. It is no wonder that Claude Monet sought inspiration from these wild and wonderful landscapes. At the Château de la Cazine, it is easy to imagine that you have just wandered into one of those paintings.
The palatial 19th century building is every bit as stunning as its setting. Its interior offers all the same unspoilt grandeur, with its white marble, crystal chandeliers and chic furniture. Here, every room is painstakingly designed like a great masterpiece, mixing the traditional château aesthetic with the very best of modern amenities.
The chateau may be secluded, but there is no end of activities to keep you busy in and around the château. Stretching over 90 hectares, the park surrounding the hotel is home to a whole range of beautiful lakes, woods and meadows. Choose your preferred method of exploration, be it walking, by bike, or on horseback, and then set off to discover some of the country’s most stunning countryside. In the hotel, you can also use the tennis courts, the infinity pool overlooking the magnificent scenery, or treat yourself to a visit to the massage parlour.
Here, Head chef David Boyer is the residence artist, meticulously creating every item on the menu to deliver the perfect culinary experience. The period décor and panoramic views set the mood for a special experience, as does the hotel’s fine wine bar, where the expert sommelier will give you a delicious aperitif and help you discover the famous French wine.

Château de la Cazine **** is a wonderfully secluded country mansion which lies three kilometres from the small village of Noth, a commune in the Creuse department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in central France, in Limousin.
BY PLANE
The closest airport is Bordeaux-Merignac Airport (BOD), which sits around 12 km / 7.5 mi west of Bordeaux city centre and around 3 hours and 20 minute's drive from the hotel. It is an international airport which is fairly well-served by flights from number of major cities across Europe, including the UK.
BY TRAIN
Alternatively, if you arrive first in Paris you can take the train from Paris Austerlitz train station to La Souterraine, this costs around 50€ and takes around 2 hours 40 minutes. The station is 15 minutes’ drive from the hotel; we recommend taking a taxi.
