Visiting the province of Lisbon, Queen Isabelle of Aragon was so enchanted by the town of Óbidos that her husband, King Denis, gave it to her as a gift. That was in the 13th century, and successive kings have since copied the romantic gesture. I decided to uphold the tradition, but since I’m more queen of VeryChic than queen of Portugal, I presented my other half with the gift of an Óbidos holiday, staying in a designer holiday home at the luxurious Bom Sucesso Resort.
