The Château de Gilly ***** is found in Vougeot, close to the famous wine domain of Clos Vougeot, in the heart of the Grands Crus wine region. It is located about halfway between Dijon, Burgundy’s administrative and historical capital, and Beaune, its wine capital.
BY PLANE
Lyon–Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS) is located around 20 km / 13 mi east-southeast of Lyon city centre.
It is fairly well-served internationally and receives flights from a number of capitals and other large cities across Europe.
FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL
Major car rental companies can be found at the airport; renting a car is the recommended and only really convenient way of getting to the hotel from the airport; it is also useful for exploring the area during your stay.
From the airport follow signs going north for Lyon – nord, then follow signs with the blue symbol for the motorway.
You will eventually be brought onto the A6 motorway “L’Autoroute du Soleil” in the direction of Paris and Dijon.
Continue for a time on the A6 and then follow signs for Dijon onto the A31.
Take exit 1 for Nuits St. Georges. From there follow signs for Gilly Les Cîteaux and for the hotel.
BY TRAIN
The Dijon TGV station is located in the city centre of Dijon and about 20 km (12 mi) from the hotel. It is therefore possible to arrive by high-speed train, with companies such as TGV, Thalys and Eurostar, from various countries across Europe such as the UK, Netherlands or Germany (as well as other cities in France.
BY CAR
This is an option worth considering if you are coming from the southern UK, other neighbouring countries, or especially other cities in France; having a car is convenient and useful for exploring the area during your stay.
The A6 motorway “L’Autoroute du Soleil” connects Paris to the south of France and passes close to Dijon. You want to take the exit for Besançon onto the A31. Once on the A31 take exit 1 for Nuits St. Georges. From there follow signs for Gilly Les Cîteaux and for the hotel.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
