Originally opened in 1975, this super-luxury hotel has undergone a number of transformations over the years. After a fairly recent complete renovation, it today finds itself in the very good hands of the Hyatt luxury hotel group. From her position on the Avinguda Diagonal, Barcelona’s central axis, the Grand Hyatt Barcelona has the whole city in its gaze. While inside, the hotel provides a luxuriously enlightened hotel experience – the focus on rest, culinary delights and wellness means that every little detail has been carefully considered and curated.
A good night’s sleep starts with beautiful surrounds. With three types of themed room, which come with Nespresso machines for that all-important moving caffeine fix, there’s plenty of design wisdom gone into the interiors here. Expect contemporary furnishings, gold and pastel hues, and a sophisticated mix of materials. From floors one to six, the Sphere rooms show off their intelligence with huge circular mirrors that turn into a smart TV at the press of a button. On floors seven to 16, Infinity rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows to heighten your perception of the surrounding neighbourhood.
