The Abaton Island Resort & Spa ***** is set facing the sea on the Greek island of Crete, just 30 km outside of its capita, Heraklion.

Plane

  • The main airport in Crete, is Heraklion International Airport, “Nikos Kazantzakis” (HER). It sits around 5 km / 3 mi to the east of Heraklion city center, on the northern coast towards the centre of Crete.

    The airport receives flights from a large number of cities across Europe, from a large number of airlines. Most flights are seasonal (mainly during the summer period) and it may be required to may have to fly first via Athens.

    Chania International Airport, "Daskalogiannis" (CHQ), is an international airport, located near on the Akrotiri Peninsula in northwestern Crete, around 14 km / 8.7 mi east of Chania.

    Though less well-served, this airport does receive a large number seasonal flights from cities across Europe, along with year-round flights from Athens, by both Aegean Airlines and Ryanair.
