PLANE
New York is currently served by two main international airports. John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), located around 12 mi (20 km) southeast of Lower Manhattan and 26 km from the hotel, a journey of approximately 35 minutes-1 hour by car depending on traffic. Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is located around 15 mi (24 km) southwest of Midtown Manhattan, in New Jersey.
Between them they receive international flights from a large number of airlines and destinations, including from most capitals and many large cities across Europe.
Please be aware that controls for entry into the United States have been tightened. Plan to arrive to the check-in desks early.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
For travel to the United States you must:
- Have a passport which is valid for at least 6 months after your return date.
- Obtain an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization). You may apply on the official ESTA website.
Application for the ESTA costs $14 and it is advised to apply at least 72 hours prior to travel.
The ESTA is valid for up to two years and allows for multiple entries of up to 90 days each into the United States (If you receive a new passport during the two-year entry period, you must reapply for ESTA approval).
