PLANE

  • Barcelona is served mainly by Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN), found just 12 km / 7.5 mi south west of the city centre.

    The airport is well served by flights from capitals and large cities all across Europe. While many airlines operate to and from Barcelona-El Prat, it acts notably as a main base for Vueling, and as a hub for Iberia, Air Europa, Ryanair, and Norwegian Air Shuttle.

    We recommend flying to Barcelona-El Prat Airport as it is much closer and more convenient for reaching the city centre. However, low-cost airlines (most notably Ryanair) fly from a number of European destinations to Girona–Costa Brava Airport (GRO), located around 100km north of Barcelona. Some low-cost airlines, mostly from the UK and Ireland, also fly to Reus Airport (REU), located around 100 km (62 mi) south west of Barcelona.
