Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea on the beachfront in Porto di Levante, Hotel Eros is just a few minutes from the volcano’s mud baths and hot springs on Vulcano Island, just north of Sicily.
The closest international airport in Sicily, is the Catania–Fontanarossa Airport (or Vincenzo Bellini Airport), located in the second largest city, Catania, about 150 km (90 mi) south of Milazzo Port where hydrofoils/ferries depart for the Aeolian Islands.
- From the UK: Air One and EasyJet (and seasonally British Airways) fly direct from London. Easyjet also fly from Manchester.
- From Ireland: Seasonal flights are available from Aer Lingus.
- From Germany: Air Berlin, Germanwings (and seasonally Air One) fly direct out of Berlin. Air Belin also fly from Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich. Air One and Germanwings fly seasonally from Dusseldorf. Lufthansa fly from Munich. Germanwings fly from Cologne, and along with Easyjet, from Hamburg.
- From the Netherlands: Transavia and Air One fly seasonally from Amsterdam and Ryanair fly from Eindhoven.
- From Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland: Norwegian fly seasonally from the first three respective capitals Stockholm, Copenhagen and Olso. Meanwhile Finnair fly seasonally from Helsinki.
- From France: Air One and Easyjet (and seasonally Transavia and XL Airways) fly direct from Paris. Ryanair also fly from Marseille and Air One fly seasonally from Lyon.
From Catania Airport to Milazzo Port:
By taxi/bus: From the airport you may take a taxi, or there are also regular minibuses, to get to Milazzo. The journey takes around an hour and a half.
By car: Most major car rental desks can be found outside the terminal buildings. First, take the E45 / A18 motorway to Messina, this road leads straight into the A20, continue past Messina, around the coast and onto Milazzo. Exit for Milazzo / isole Eolie. At the roundabout take the direction of Palermo and then take the following right turn for Milazzo. Follow this road all the way to the port.
From Milazzo Port to Vulcano Island:
By hydrofoil: Regular hydrofoils depart all year round, faster than ferries, they take around 45 minutes to reach the island.
By ferry: If arriving by car you will have to take a car ferry. The journey time is around 1 hour and 45 minutes.
From Vulcano Port to the hotel:
Once on the island, the hotel offers a complimentary transfer from the port. Please contact 01 83 77 77 47 with the exact time of your arrival.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
