New York is currently served by two main international airports: John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), located around 12 mi (20 km) south east of Lower Manhattan, and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), located in New Jersey, around 15 mi / 24 km south west of Midtown Manhattan.
