In the very heart of Cannes, you and your loved one wake up on the first morning of your getaway, in a tastefully furnished and spacious suite. You both lie on the comfortable bed with your heads upon the plush pillows, admiring the room’s excellently modern décor.

You: How did you sleep?

Your loved one: I slept great! Those soundproofed windows really are excellent. I think I’ll have a bath, could you make me a coffee from the Nespresso machine?

They wander across the room into the bathroom and begin to run water in the large bathtub, meanwhile, you make a couple of espresso coffees and turn on the flat-screen TV before settling down on the soft sofa.

Dissolve to: Novotel Suites Cannes’s terrace, where you are both enjoying a complimentary breakfast, near greenery and under the blue sky.

You: Where would you like to go today? The Palais des Festivals is only a short walk away, or we could go to the beach and soak up a bit of sun.

Your loved one: Why don’t we go to the harbour? I heard it’s very beautiful, we could have some lunch and then maybe do a bit of shopping on the way back. Do you know where the shopping districts are?

You: Yes, I overheard one of the waiters giving directions, we’re very close.

Dissolve to: The following day, two of you are lying on sun loungers with your hands gently brushing the soft sands beneath you. You are gazing at the sun dancing on the silky waters, whilst your loved one holds gingerly onto a book.

Your loved one: What would you like to do this afternoon? I was thinking we could do one of the coastal walks they recommended at reception, or go to one of the galleries we’ve walked past.

You: Yeah that sounds great, just give me another 5 minutes in the sun…

You smile and sink back into your sun lounger, listening to the calm breaking of waves before you.
