At the bottom of the spectacular slopes of Avoriaz, a small revolution in accommodation has taken place, Flying Nest, an amazing new concept, has settled amongst pristine peaks to offer complete comfort and a unique stay. Even from afar, these curious containers will draw attention, but some lucky few will be able to slip into some soft slippers and throw themselves onto the cosy beds that the units reveal.
Flying Nest sits like a monument to technical prowess and ingenuity, indeed, it won both “best initiative in human resources and talent management” and “best innovation in hotel concept.” The awards recognised the hotel’s exemplary use of natural and human resources, and the unique and unforgettable experiences that the innovative design allows for.
The modules, which are made from shipping containers and other eco-responsible materials, are easily transported anywhere. They are designed to adapt to the needs of their surroundings and currently lie on the powdery bed of snow at the foot of the slopes. The bold design and sustainability show a glimpse of futuristic hospitality, and you are invited to take part.
Every morning, you will wake up in your marvellously modern wooden cabin and look out the brilliant bay windows, which present the glorious view of the expansive landscapes from your very bed. Each unit has a contemporary bathroom and a private terrace, here you can tuck into a delicious breakfast and enjoy a hot coffee.
Albeit unusual, the cabins make for an unforgettable and hugely enjoyable stay, they will undoubtedly appeal to lovers of nature and cosy bases. Not only because they are extremely environmentally friendly and have a minimum impact on the natural surroundings, but because they offer unrivalled vistas and a real connection to nature with complete comfort. Flying Nest is like a taste of the future, and it’s delicious.
