Harmony Crest Resort ★★★★

I unlock the door to my room and immediately lay down on the soft, cotton linen draped over my bed. Exhausted, I pull a hand through my hair and open the balcony doors. The warm Grecian breeze washes over me as I admire the expansive, azure Aegean Sea. Other accommodations, in the resort, feature large terraces and stunning swim up sharing pools. These exquisite furnishings set this hotel apart from the rest.

Walking downstairs, it’s easy to see the incredible attention to detail and exceptional care poured into the resort. On the ground floor, I wander around the facilities built with families in mind. A range of free sporting equipment, including apparatus for tennis, basketball and volleyball, is available for use on the multipurpose court. The divine swimming pool and separate kids pool both look enticing. I dip my toes into the outdoor freshwater pool and allow the cooling waters to pull me in for a peaceful swim.

I pull myself up onto one of the wooden loungers floating in the pool and shake any remaining water droplets off my skin. Lying under the warm Grecian sun, I soon dry off and seek out a refreshing beverage…maybe a cocktail or a smoothie. The pool bar offers tempting choices, from summer juices to crunchy cones holding silky scoops of ice cream. I sip an iced coffee and head back to my room to utilise the rainfall shower and change for lunch.

I smell the mouth-watering Greek cuisine before I see it. The main restaurant allows you to watch chefs cooking live in an interactive show! The sumptuous, buffet style fare boasts grilled fish and vegetables, traditional gyros and fried potatoes. After a delicious meal, I dine on copious amounts of sweet melon. Kos’s rich volcanic soils produce an abundance of this flavourful fruit! Agriculture and tourism co-exist in this Greek paradise, in fact, there are said to be as many cows as people on this wondrous island!
