71 Avenue Louise
1050
Brussels
Belgium
The Steigenberger Wiltcher's ***** holds pride of place on the famous Avenue Louise, the ‘shopping mile’ in the very heart of Brussels.
Brussels is served by two airports, Brussels National Airport (17 km) located in the neighbouring municipality of Zaventem, and Brussels-South Charleroi Airport (58 km) located between Brussels and Charleroi in Gosselies.
Brussels National Airport receives flights from most capitals and major cities across Europe. Meanwhile, low-cost airlines (notably Ryanair), operate flights to Brussels-South Charleroi Airport from many cities across Europe.
Getting from Brussels National Airport to the hotel:
- By taxi: Taxis are always available in front of the arrivals hall and the fare to the city centre is normally around € 45. (Avoid unlicensed taxis! Licensed taxis can be recognized by the blue and yellow emblem.)
- By train: The airport express train runs between the airport and city centre, you should get off at Brussels Midi Station. From there you can take the metro line 2 (orange) or line 6 (blue) for three stops to Louise. It is then a 5 minute’ walk right, and down Av. Louise; the hotel will be on the right.
- By bus: The Airport Line bus service run two buses to the city centre, line 12 and 21; both terminate at Luxembourg Square. From there either take a taxi the remaining distance, or walk 8 minutes to Trône metro where you can catch line 2 or 6 for two stops to Louise; upon exiting, walk right and down Av. Louise; the hotel will be on the right.
- By Car: The airport is around 13 km (20 minutes) from the hotel. In the arrivals hall you will find the desks of the major car rental companies. There is a Ring Road surrounding Brussels called R0 (or E40). The airport is located at the northeast side. Once you get onto the R0, you will see signs that point towards Brussels.

Getting from Brussels-South Charleroi Airport to the hotel:
- By taxi: Taxis wait outside the terminal and cost around € 80 to the city centre, which can be cost efficient if shared between four passengers. There are three taxi companies that have signed a quality charter with the airport; these taxis usually offer a fixed price.
- By bus: Shuttle buses run once an hour every day to Brussels, taking about 45 minutes to Brussels-Midi station. It is one of the cheapest, most convenient ways of reaching the city. Tickets cost around € 13 single and € 22 return. From there, take a taxi or metro lines 2 or 6 to Louise, it is then a 5 minute walk right, and down Av. Louise; the hotel will be on the right.
- By car: Charleroi Airport is about 55 kilometres (34 miles) from Brussels. Driving to Brussels is quite straight forward since the airport is directly south of Brussels city centre. Leaving from the north of Charleroi airport, take the E420 which merges onto A54 and drive north for 20 km, exit onto the A7 and drive 12 km. Then exit for the R0, Ring-Est (ring road), and then exit for Brussels. The journey time is around 45 minutes to Brussels city centre.
Brussels is easily accessible by train. Arriving internationally, high-speed trains are operated by several companies: Eurostar from the UK, TGV Europe from France and Thalys from a variety of countries including the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands. Some journey times are: Paris (1 hour 30 minutes), London, Amsterdam and Cologne (1 hour and 50 minutes).
Arriving by Eurostar, TGV, Thalys or local train, you need to go to the Brussels Midi Station. Take a taxi from there or metro lines 2 or 6 to Louise. It is then a 5 minute walk right, and down Av. Louise; the hotel will be on the right.
The closest metro station to the hotel is Louise, served by line 2 (orange) and line 6 (blue). It is then a short walk to the hotel, turn right down Av. Louise and the hotel will be on the right.
The tram stop Stéphanie, served by line 94, is also very close to the hotel at 2 minutes’ walking distance, on the same road.
