I hadn’t been feeling all that lucky. The weather in London was looking like it was never going to perk up, my daily commute was getting harder to bear, and I was having a particularly difficult time at work. So I decided to treat myself to a well-deserved and much needed getaway. For the perfect combination of sunshine and luxury, there’s nowhere better than Crete. And there, my luck changed: I had arrived at the Daios Cove Luxury Resort, a gorgeous retreat on the Cretan coast!

The Daios Cove Luxury Resort ***** is situated in Agios Nikolaos around 62 kilometres (50 minutes' drive) from Heraklion on the Greek island of Crete. It is a large island located to the south of mainland Greece, around an hours flight from Athens.

BY PLANE

  • The main airport in Crete is Heraklion International Airport (“Nikos Kazantzakis”), located 65 km, around 1 hour's drive, west of the hotel. It receives flights from many capitals and major cities across Europe in high season. Out of season, indirect flights are available via Athens.

    You can take a taxi when arriving at the airport or rent a car. Having a car can be useful to explore the island during your stay, and the hotel provides free parking. It is around an hour's drive from the airport to the hotel.
