El Olivar Palace ★★★★★

A sumptuous retreat where Moroccan culture and luxury combine.

By Alicia Kelly, VeryChic correspondent
Morocco: a country soaked so deeply in culture that one would believe it were hand-crafted for travellers. With its rich fusion of Middle Eastern, European and African flavours, there is no country as fascinating or as storied as this. In ancient cities, vibrant souks wind like a labyrinth of deep pockets filled with hidden treasures that will flood your senses with colour and spice. Meanwhile, inside architecturally magnificent exteriors, glorious riots of intricate tiles and exquisitely painted ceilings rush through. Nestled amongst the Saharan dunes of liquid gold and the snow-capped peaks of the High Atlas, lies the thousand-year old Red City, Marrakech, home to the five-star El Olivar Palace.
