Biarritz Pays Basque Airport (BIQ), also known simply as Biarritz Airport, is located 5 km (3.1 mi) southeast of Biarritz.
It is not a large airport, but does receive a number of national and international flights, including from a few capitals and other large European cities, for instance: London, Birmingham, Dublin, Madrid, Paris, Geneva, Luxembourg, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki. Aside from Paris, it also receives some flights from other cities in France, including: Marseille, Nice, Lyon, and Lille. You may need to fly indirect via one of the destinations listed above.
HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL
- By train: Either take a taxi or Bus C (operated by Chronobus) to Biarritz train station (about 7 minutes away). A direct train from there to St.-Jean-de-Luz costs around 3.40€ (around £2.42) and takes about 15 minutes.
- By bus: It is possible to take a bus directly, which is a cheaper option; line 816 (direction of: Hendaye) operated by Transports64 stops in front of the airport and then also stops in St-Jean-de-Luz. A single ticket costs around 2€ . You can get off at Campos Berri, which is 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel; facing the road, walk left up the road (Av. André Ithurralde) then take the second left up Rue Cepe to number 5. Alternatively stay on the bus and get off at Halte Routière (next to the train station) and take a taxi from there.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
