Who rules over Aeolus and the Aegean seas? Poseidon of course. And who rules over the nearby Cyclades Island, Paros? Why, again, Poseidon of course...Poseidon of Paros resort and spa that is.
This is your chance to stay in a resort they say is recommended by Poseidon himself and his mighty trident. Nowadays, here at the Poseidon of Paros resort, you might see the mighty god of the sea lounging in a colourful summer t-shirt, strolling around in noisy flip-flops and holding a strawberry daiquiri (courtesy of Verychic), instead of a dangerous fork-like weapon. Every holiday he stops by, checks in with ease and is led by the fantastic hotel personal to his superior double room with a remarkable sea-view. The majority of the time that he spends in his room is spent on his private terrace staring out over the glittering sea over which he is master. He gazes, thinks about how beautiful it is and how proud he is of it. His room is decorated in soft pastels and even though a god, Poseidon still enjoys his sleep, and the comfortable, anatomical mattress of the large king size bed coaxes him into deep relaxation. He awakes to the sight of his sofa, and imagines lounging and reading the Iliad, as he much admires the creative literary works of humans.
But, alas, he should leave and enjoy the great outdoors, so it was into a marble-clad bathroom he wandered and let water rush over him in the large, walk-in shower, before he descended the two short flights of stairs and stepped outside. Here Poseidon is spoilt for choice, should he take up a racket and challenge a human on the tennis courts? Or dive into the glittering, pristine waters of the swimming pools? He decided to return somewhat to his natural habitat and sink into the waters of Amfitriti pool, named after his wife, before lazily breast-stroking his way to the in-pool bar for another one of those delicious daiquiris.
As Helios, the sun, was slowly driving his chariot across the earth, yellow light hit the horizon and sprawled into oranges and pinks. Posiedon decided he would watch such a phenomenon from the beach, only a couple of minutes walk away, and let the surprisingly warm waters of the Aegean Sea wash over his feet. It was then that a loud, rumbling noise began, and Posiedon was hungry and although he would dine with humans tonight, it would be a meal fit for the gods. He settled into a sea view seat at his son’s, Triton’s, restaurant and began choosing his meal and delicious wine for which this island is famous. The sky was starting to come alight with magical, starry, pinpricks of light, maybe he would dine with the gods tonight; and it was here that the goddess of the sea Amphitrite decided to join him.
She had spent her day languishing in the delight of the spa in the very capable hands of Swiss techniques with luxury and rejuvenating treatments. She had returned glowing and full of energy, a renewed in her goddess qualities. She had taken full advantage of the VeryChic 10% off, by laying back in the hammam, saunas and Jacuzzis, and enjoying a Valmont facial in spa serenity that sparkled with mosaics of blues and greens of the Aegean ocean. She felt right at home.
Under the starry sky, the couple discussed what they might do when Helios drove his sun chariot across the sky again. The waves of the sea were beckoning, and they decided they would show off the skills on the water, they chose windsurfing and with the help of good old Aeolus and the island’s best windsurfing school, they knew tomorrow would be another fantastic day.
