Ah…Paris, she still manages to thrill me… Stroll through the South Pigalle quarter, and find yourself in wild 30s Paris. Here a snatch of jazz fresh from across the Atlantic, there a salacious Josephine Baker baring her dark skin considered too risqué for uptight America, over here a heated debate on surrealist art between Dalí and Man Ray… This is the Paris that beckoned downtrodden creatives with scarlet-nailed fingers, and Les Matins de Paris **** simply bursts with its spirit.
