The main airport in Crete is Heraklion International Airport, “Nikos Kazantzakis” (HER). It sits around 5 km / 3 mi to the east of Heraklion city center, on the northern coast towards the centre of Crete, and is around 18 km / 11 mi from the hotel.
The airport receives flights from a large number of cities across Europe, from a large number of airlines. Most flights are seasonal (mainly during the summer period) and it may be required to may have to fly first via Athens.
Chania International Airport, "Daskalogiannis" (CHQ), is an international airport, located near on the Akrotiri Peninsula in northwestern Crete, around 14 km / 8.7 mi east of Chania.
Though less well-served, this airport does receive a large number seasonal flights from cities across Europe, along with year-round flights from Athens, by both Aegean Airlines and Ryanair.
HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL
From Heraklion International Airport "Nikos Kazantzakis":
- By taxi: the hotel is around 20 minutes from the hotel. Taxi cabs are located outside the terminal, make sure to take a licensed taxi.
- By car: car rentals can be found at the airport terminals. Take the VOAK/A90/E75 to the hotel.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
