Nestled in the beautiful small seaside village of Bali, Crete that marries the majestic mountains with the cerulean blue of the sea, is where we reclined under the gleaming sun, as the kids splashed in the pool and appreciated games with the vibrant animation team. There’s also a verdant grassy green wooden playground for the little ones and a generous sized tennis court to work off the half board calories. Atali Grand Resort truly left us with the most amazing memories and picturesque photos for us to relive the experience.
We enjoyed our comfortable furniture and crispy clean Family Room with far reaching sea views from the balcony. You won’t go hungry with the bountiful buffet breakfast and dinner with a plethora of quality options to satisfy your taste buds. Escape for a romantic delicious gourmet dinner one evening if you can at the a la carte restaurant overlooking the sea and neighbouring mountains.
Venture forth to discover the local gems of the region of Bali throughout the day, including the Atalis Monastery, perched on an elevated small peninsula, the cosy harbour, fine fish taverns and small islet “Livadi” beach. About 32 kilometres west, is the charming town of Rethymno with a nearby sandy beach that preserves much of its Venetian and Turkish influence. Majestic mansions of Venetian architecture line the cobbled streets, dotted with stunning churches and mosques.
If you have time to pamper yourself in the evening, make your way to Atali’s wellness and beauty centre at the hotel for a polished pedicure, aromatherapy massage to melt your worries away or an age defence luxury facial. We could not have enjoyed a Mediterranean holiday more, with sun, sea, sand and local tradition enveloping us from our fabulous four-star abode.

- The Melidoni Cave, northwest of the village that has a fascinating history, once the place of worship for Talos, the bronze giant guardian of Crete who protected the island from its enemies during Minoan Civilization.
- A swim in the clear waters of the quiet, pebbled Spilies beach that is unknown to most tourists. Explore the sea caves and formations to the west and east of the rocky bay.
- A day trip to the historical city of Rethymno, housing a lighthouse, 16th century citadel and interesting folklore museum showcasing local crafts and ceramics.

The main airport in Crete is Heraklion International Airport, “Nikos Kazantzakis” (HER). It sits around 5 km / 3 mi to the east of Heraklion city center, on the northern coast towards the centre of Crete.
The airport receives flights from a large number of cities across Europe, from a large number of airlines. Most flights are seasonal (mainly during the summer period) and it may be required to may have to fly first via Athens.
Chania International Airport, ""Daskalogiannis"" (CHQ), is an international airport, located near on the Akrotiri Peninsula in northwestern Crete, around 14 km / 8.7 mi east of Chania.
Though less well-served, this airport does receive a large number seasonal flights from cities across Europe, along with year-round flights from Athens, by both Aegean Airlines and Ryanair.
