• Mandatory Passenger Locator Form must be completed at least 24-hours before arrival in Greece.
• Must present a vaccination certificate in English (must have completed all doses with 14 days since the last dose) or a negative Covid-19 PCR test taken within 72-hours of arrival or a negative antigen test taken within 48 hours of arrival.
• Those who tested positive for Covid-19 in the previous 6 months are exempt from testing (must present a certificate of recovery issued by a public authority / certified laboratory, or a certificate of the positive PCR or antigen test result performed at least 30 days before arrival and no later than 180 days before arrival).

BY PLANE

  • The main airport in Crete is Heraklion International Airport, “Nikos Kazantzakis” (HER). It sits around 5 km / 3 mi to the east of Heraklion city center, on the northern coast towards the centre of Crete.

    The airport receives flights from a large number of cities across Europe, from a large number of airlines. Most flights are seasonal (mainly during the summer period) and it may be required to may have to fly first via Athens.

    Chania International Airport, "Daskalogiannis" (CHQ), is an international airport, located near on the Akrotiri Peninsula in northwestern Crete, around 14 km / 8.7 mi east of Chania.

    Though less well-served, this airport does receive a large number seasonal flights from cities across Europe, along with year-round flights from Athens, by both Aegean Airlines and Ryanair.
