Labranda Marieta - Only Adults ★★★★

A bright white, almost futuristic looking building, the Labranda Marieta -Adults only is its own kind of paradise. Palm trees sway gently in the sea breeze, before entering the sparkly clean lobby, the white of the floor reflecting the ceiling tea lights. The lady at the desk pleasantly welcomed us and gave us our room key before we bolted off to our deluxe room.

I vividly recall waking up to the sun on my face, the cobalt blue of the Atlantic Ocean looking back at me from our private balcony. We could quietly disconnect from our working lives with a book, the crash of waves serenading us from afar. The bright, open room with sea blue pillows and curtains, a seaside painting displayed over the bed, all pleasantly reminded us that we were here to relax.

Our favourite moments were spent with long walks along the beach and laps of the outdoor pools, sipping refreshments by the pool bar under a sun umbrella. Later in the evening, it was nice to sojourn at La Brise Spa, massaging our shoulders under the water jets, lying on the heated beds, and soaking in the hot tub.

The main buffet restaurant, La Cascada, served a wide range of international and local dishes. There were often themed nights which were exciting, and the spacious room was well air conditioned to mask the hotter temperatures outdoors. I loved the varied selection at the salad bar for a fresh, light and healthy lunch. Zeus Bar was a terrific option for a night cap, artificial grass under your feet and cushy grey sofas with bold red cushions sets the scene for a natural but elegant ambience. After a drink or two, we scurried back to our comfortable abode, where every morning we woke refreshed and ready to take on more adventure filled escapades!
