Hotel Villa Soligo - Small Luxury Hotels of the World ★★★★

Begin your journey at the gates of Hotel Villa Soligo, the tall, white mansion stands proudly, overlooking the well-groomed green gardens that envelope the grounds. As you enter, delicate Renaissance frescos decorate the high ceiling, and pristine white walls emanate airiness and luminosity. Common areas boast sumptuously soft sofas, an ornate fireplace and old, floral tiles. The classical past meets with modern and elegant design.

Inside our deluxe room, a bright, crispy clean abode was where we rested in a luxurious calm at the end of every day. The dark wooden floors, together with the velvet green chair, shiny desktop and long velvet curtains made us feel warm and cosy.

For a relaxing evening, the hotel boasts a luxurious spa, with a sauna and massage rooms to help you unwind. Outside a turquoise pool with loungers glisten in the sun, overlooking the surrounding mountainous terrain. One evening, we indulged in a Prosecco tasting, combined with a luxurious cheese and charcuterie board, which we would highly recommend. Perlage Winery is very close to the hotel. The hotel staff were incredible at helping us arrange vineyard visits.

There’s also nice walkways like that of Fiume Soilgo in the area and Eremo di San Gallo, a little hilltop church for views over the city and the green vastness that surrounds the region. Entrata Ovest natural park is great for long walks or cycles, about a 20-minute drive away. It’s good to know that the hotel sees a host of cyclists every year, that wind through the Prosecco hills. Don’t have a bike of your own? You can rent one from the hotel and explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site panorama at your own pace. Hotel Villa Soligo will also happily organise an environmental and touristic tour, that you can book at the reception, a 2-hour interesting and informative trek that is both fun and fascinating.
