As you walk into the elegant reception area, creamy sofas and regal green, contemporary styled chairs invite you to sit and rest while you await the keys to your new home. Whether you’re here for business or simply a holiday, you have working spaces, conference rooms, and of course good food, a stellar spa and sprawling pool at your fingertips.

In our Deluxe Room, we basked in beautiful panoramic views of the canal through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Plush bedding made every night of sleep gloriously cosy, while the pristine marble of the bathroom exuded opulence. We appreciated our spacious walk-in wardrobe and the delicate coral-inspired wall sculptures. Everything from the stylish furniture to the creamy suede corner sofa mirrored the richness of the City of Gold.

A swim in the infinity pool that looks out over the canal is a dream. By sunset, the sky is a palette of soft pinks and violet, creating a stunning collage, interrupted by the skyscraper lights. Signature afternoon tea is a must at the library, with freshly baked pastries and roasted coffee, as well as sampling the famed Bloody Mary at the bar. Have dinner against a backdrop of the Dubai Water Canal at the spirited Italian restaurant Basta, or in the relaxed Mediterranean Bleu Blanc in Downtown Dubai. Now all that’s left is to explore everything you have just steps away from your door, from the Dubai Water Canal Walk to the magical Dubai fountain, and the towering Burj Khalifa.
