Hurghada International Airport (HRG) is the nearest international airport, located 5 km / 3.1 mi southwest of El Dahar, the downtown of Hurghada.
The airport is an important destination for flights mainly from Europe, receiving seasonal and year-round flights from a number of cities across Europe.
ADMINISTRATIVE FORMALITIES
All foreign visitors to Egypt, whether they need a visa or not, must have a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.
Visitors from many countries, including the UK, all of the European Union, the US and Canada may apply for an e-Visa online in advance, apply here. Alternatively, it is possible to obtain a visa either at your local Egyptian consulate, or upon arrival in Egypt (however this may require spending time in a queue on arrival!).
Visas allow a stay of up to 30 days per entry, and may be approved as either a single or multiple entry authorization depending on the needs of the applicant.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
