The Portinatx Beach Club Hotel **** ticked all the boxes, stunning sea views, cocktails by the pool, Zumba lessons, yoga, and a spa lounge that was home to a thermal circuit and relaxation area. At an extra cost, but well worth it, we rented a kayak and paddle boards to explore the waters with our snorkelling goggles. We also decided it a good idea to rent bikes to explore nearby beaches like that of Cala Xarraca.
Most of our time was spent at the hotel’s Sky Bar, and Cliff Bar, which is for adults only. The Sky Bar boasts sun loungers, hot tubs and a casual bar service, and magically becomes an exclusive bar garden at night. The Cliff Bar, as the name suggests is an exceptional setting, on the cliff’s edge, ideal for some tranquil sunbathing and lounging in a hammock as you breath in the crispy clean ocean air. Of course, the main pool and pool in the chill out zone were just as wonderful, but there’s something about a cool drink in a massaging hot tub, overlooking the sea that just can’t be matched.
Local and international cuisine is served at the hotel, from the flavoursome gastronomy of the main restaurant to the informal and cosy main bar, where you can sample delectable Italian cuisine, grilled cuts and wholesome salads. Our group particularly enjoyed the Portinatx Beach Club, where we dressed up elegantly to enjoy a rich tasting menu, while watching the sunset over the beach of Cala Imatge. The crystal-clear ocean, with turquoise and blue tones is the perfect backdrop for a frame-worthy photo.
I won’t forget waking up to the mist of the fresh sea air against my skin and the warmth of the Mediterranean sun from my balcony at Portinatx Beach Club Hotel ****, nor the beach days kayaking back to shore, or the pretty exotic flowers and palms that greeted us every morning. I made sure to buy a little souvenir from the boutique gift shop before jetting home, just to keep the memories alive!
