Le Saint Gervais Hotel & Spa Handwritten Collection ★★★★

As we nonchalantly waltzed through the hotel entrance, we felt the warmth of the expansive lobby. Books kissed the shelves, modern art could be spotted on many a shelf, while the colours, although varied, were warm in tone, making the cosy seating area feel all the more inviting. We see the revival of the early 20th century historic residence throughout the hotel and in the rooms. A blend of vintage and modern-day design, the décor is quite unique and homely. Designed by Moha agency, it is inspired by a chic and artsy holiday home.

The bar, its royal blue countertop with old-fashioned stools was where we would appreciate a glass of vino after a day of walking, or we’d sit quietly in the common area on a luxuriously soft sofa, where we could admire the snowy mountains while remaining comfortably warm. The spa, a tranquil space of grey marble is where we would happily lounge in the turquoise pool or hot tub. Better still, the hotel is very close to the Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains Thermal Baths, an incredible space to relax in soothing, warm thermal waters, surrounded by mountains and trees.

A functional ski room to store all your ski equipment is available on site, perfect for the winter ski season and the Saint-Gervais Ski School is just 500 metres from the property. We walked to the village centre of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains in no time, where we stumbled upon a cosy French restaurant chalet called La Galeta, where you can taste amazing fondue. The quaint little village is quite charming, with its town hall, church and authentic restaurants. Whether you have come to ski, spend time in nature or the thermal baths, this corner of France is a peaceful paradise where we would certainly return to again.
