Taking its name from an ancient tree planted in the courtyard by its ancestors, Cydonian Caves offers an authentic experience of what life is like in traditional Santorini. What was once a 200-year-old house has been lovingly restored into a beautiful and luxurious boutique hotel tucked away in the village of Megalochori.   • Santorini (Thira) International Airport (JTR) is located 6 km / 3.5 mi southeast of Fira, the island's capital, and around 7km / 4mi (15 minutes') drive from the hotel.

    The airport is fairly well served with seasonal flights from many European cities, including the UK, as well as year-round flights from Athens.
