The Lodge is a luxurious hotel with a distinctive style by the renowned designer Nini Andrade Silva that imprints the essence of the Douro in an organic way, arousing the senses in an air of timelessness. The Lodge was inspired by the rich wine culture of the region which is evident throughout the hotel. The hotel has a prime location in the middle of the historic Porto wine cellars, overlooking the Douro River and close to Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto.
Each room at The Lodge Hotel is a harmonious combination of comfort and elegance with sophisticated décor, plenty of natural light, and splendid views of the surroundings. At the Dona Maria onsite restaurant, you can savour authentic Portuguese cuisine in a truly charming setting. The Dona Maria is decorated in autumnal colours and organic shapes that give it movement, like the ceiling "torn" by enormous vine leaves or the serpentine wine cellar that encircles the whole room. It is meant to reincarnate the spirit of the Douro vineyard and its slopes. The dining rooms, whether open or in more private nooks, are dominated by marble, velvet, and wood. A cosy esplanade with a stunning view of Porto overlooks the roofs as the dining area stretches outside.

Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO), or simply "Porto Airport", sits about 11km / 6.8mi northwest of Porto city centre. It is around 17km / 11mi (24 minutes') drive from the hotel.
The airport receives regular flights from most capitals and many other major cities in Europe, including from the UK.
To the hotel:
• Metro: Line E (Purple) runs every 20 or 30 minutes into the city centre. Taking around 20-25 minutes.
• Bus: STCP and Resende provide buses to various areas of the city, departing every 30-40 minutes. Meanwhile, a number of private shuttle services are available.
• Taxi: taxis are always available at the taxi ranks, it should take around 20-30 minutes to reach the city centre.
