Good things come to those who wait. This year it was finally my turn to plan the family holiday. It didn’t take long to settle on the sun-soaked Costa Brava. After mornings filled with rounds of golf and luxuriating in the spa, we’d sunbathe on idyllic beaches before making the most of local cuisine and wine. With the help of VeryChic, we booked into the four-star Empordà Golf Resort. Suffice to say it was such a success that I’ll be in charge again next year…

  • Stroll through the little streets of Begur (just 15km from the hotel), lined with elegant 18th-century houses and picturesque fishermen’s cottages. While here you should try the refined and creative menu on offer at Turandot.

The Empordà Golf Resort **** is beautifully located on the Costa Brava with views of the mountains and sea. Found between Palafrugell and L'Escala, the nearest beach is Estartit.

BY PLANE

  • Girona–Costa Brava Airport (GRO) sits just south of Girona city, around 45 minutes' drive from the hotel. The airport welcomes some regular and even more seasonal flights from a number of cities across Europe, including from the UK. Alternatively, the very internationally well-served Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) is located 1 hour and 40 minutes' drive to the south of the hotel.

    From either airport, we recommend renting a car in order to reach the hotel and provide the freedom to explore the surrounding region during your stay.
