ADMINISTRATIVE FORMALITIES

  • To enter Sri Lanka, passports should have one blank page and be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival.

    Visas to Sri Lanka are required by all citizens of the UK, countries in the EU, the US, Canada, and Australia. It is possible to apply and pay online via the Electronic Travel Authorization System (ETA) website. It is recommended to apply before you travel; while there is an ETA desk at the airport upon arrival (credit card or US Dollars only), it is subject to long queues.

PLANE

  • Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), or commonly ""Colombo International"" or ""Katunayake"", sits just north of the capital, Colombo, and around 35 km drive from the hotel. The main international airport serving Sri Lanka, it is well-served although with few direct flights from Europe. It is possible to find direct flights from cities such as London, Paris, or Frankfurt, otherwise it is also possible to fly indirect via, for example, Istanbul, Dubai, Singapore or Doha.
