With its beautiful Portuguese architecture, typical paved streets, delicious food and authentic feel, Lisbon is the perfect city destination when you need to escape the daily routine. With a wonderful Mediterranean feel, it’s sure to leave you feeling sun-kissed and refreshed. This time, I made a wonderful discovery: the As Janelas Verdes. This 18century palace with sumptuous interiors in the historic part of the capital is the best kind of luxury.

Set in the heart of Lisbon, in an 18thᵉ century townhouse, the As Janelas Verdes **** - Lisbon Heritage Collection is ideally located next to the National Museum of Ancient Art.

BY PLANE

  • Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS), or simply "Lisbon Airport", sits just 7km / 4.3mi north of Lisbon city centre and around 13km / 8mi (15-20 minutes') drive from the hotel. It is a well-served international airport and the main hub for TAP Portugal. The airport receives regular flights from most capitals and many other major cities in Europe, including from the UK.

    From the airport to the hotel:
    • Taxi: located outside the terminals, prices are calculated on distance and it should take around 15-20 minutes to reach the hotel.
    • Metro: the red line operates to São Sebastião in the city. Get off after 11 stops at the São Sebastião stop. Then connect to the Bº Azul bus service and take Bus 713 towards Estação de Campolide and get off at the 16th stop at Rua Garcia da Orta
    • Bus: Aerobus Line 1 operates to the city centre of Lisbon every 20 minutes.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

  • The Rua das Janelas Verdes bus stop is served by the 713, 714 and 727 buses and is only a few metres from the hotel, straight ahead.
