BY PLANE
The nearest airport is Girona–Costa Brava Airport (GRO) located 12 km (7.8 mi) south of Girona and around 80 km (50 mi) from the hotel. Ryanair offer year-round & seasonal flights from many cities across Europe, while some other airlines also operate seasonal flights from certain countries, like Thomson Airways from the UK or Transavia from the Netherlands.
You will also find a much larger selection of international flights to Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN), located 139 km (85 mi) south of the hotel. This airport is well served by flights from capitals and large cities all across Europe. Many airlines operate to and from Barcelona-El Prat, however, it acts a main base for Vueling, and as a hub for Iberia, Air Europa, Ryanair, and Norwegian Air Shuttle.
HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL
From Girona–Costa Brava:
- By car: The most convenient way to get to the hotel and around during your stay, car rental desks can be found at the airport terminal. Follow the signs to Girona and France and merge onto the AP-7. Take exit 7 to Girona, at the roundabout take the 3rd exit, then take the third right on Av. La Pau. At the second roundabout along this take a left onto Carrer D’Alfons Moré, then again at the second roundabout take a right onto Passeig D’Olot. At the end of this road is another roundabout onto the main road, take a left here onto Carrer del Riu Guell which will turn into Av. Joseph Tarradellas i Joan. At Carrer Joan Pons take a left and the hotel will be on your left.
- By Bus: Buses to Girona bus station depart from the airport about every hour and the journey takes about 40mins. It is about a ten minute walk from the bus station to Hotel Girona. You can take the 605, 607 or the L-28. From the bus station turn left onto Carrer Ferran Soldevila Zubid, take your first left down to Carrer de Santa Eugènia. Take your second right on Carrer Francesc Civil, with the green on your right. Take your 4th left onto Carrer Joan Pons, the hotel will be down the road on your right.
- By Taxi: Taxis are available from the airport, the journey takes less than twenty minutes and costs around 20€.
From Barcelona-El Prat:
- By car: This is the only really convenient way of getting to the hotel from the airport, the front desks for most major car rental companies can be found on the ground floor of Terminal 1 and at the main exit hall of Terminal 2B.
Follow signs for the motorway towards Girona, which will eventually bring you onto the AP-7 / E-15. Take exit 7 for Girona. at the roundabout take the 3rd exit, then take the third right on Av.
