Les Glycines ★★★★

An elegant and stylish base from which to explore the history and terroir of the Perigord Noir.

By Joanne Leitch, VeryChic Correspondent.
The Perigord Noir region in the Dordogne is full of pre-historic caves and medieval castles and is sometimes referred to as the ‘cradle of humanity’. But it’s not just for history buffs; there’s something about the way locals are happy to share their love of the land that is infectious and envelopes you in a blanket of perfumes and colours reflecting the countryside: forests of oak and chestnut rich with wild mushrooms, and elusive truffles waiting to be discovered. There’s no better place to fall under its spell than Les Glycines ****, a 19th century coaching inn converted to a hotel.
