My husband and I decided we didn't know Portugal well enough when we were discussing our holiday options. We embarked on a little tour of the country to rectify this, and each time we were at a destination, we asked for opinions as to where to go next. That's how we found ourselves in Viseu, a charming and vibrant city that often loses out to its more famous neighbours in the tourist stakes. This was good for us though! The Pousada De Viseu **** was our luxurious base for exploring.
