La Résidence du Bailli

St Tropez with my man and I am feeling gorgeously glamorous, especially as we are going somewhere truly secret and exclusive, far away from the dizzying crowds. An elegant four-star residence perched on a verdant cliff, surrounded by lush gardens and looking out over the dazzling sea at its feet, La Résidence du Bailli.

A magnificent drive along the dreamy coast at last brings us to our destination. Stepping out from the heat into the spacious lobby, we see the tasteful combination of contemporary design with classic touches of traditional charm that extends throughout the premises. Our suite is a large and airy boudoir filled with light flooding in from our balcony that looks out to sea, containing a harmonious blend of modernity and antique allure.

We set our bags down and look about with satisfaction. Shades of white and turquoise glow, while the floor is a warm terracotta. We have a fabulous bathroom with pretty blue and white tiles, a vast bathtub and fluffy dressing gowns with slippers to pad about in glorious comfort. We have had a long journey and are both starving, so we temporarily tear ourselves away from our marvellous room and descend to the restaurant by the pool for some exquisite, light snacks and a refreshing glass of white wine.

The idea of a sunset swim from our private beach entices us to a leisurely stroll towards the sand. As we descend the wide steps onto the immaculate beach and watch the sun blazing red on the horizon, we both pause to breathe in this blissful moment of silence and radiant beauty. The first of many such moments here in our magical, chic oasis: La Résidence du Bailli.
