Quiet beach stay in Cantabria’s capital

By Lizzie Davey, VeryChic correspondent
Santander is a not-so-secret spot in northern Spain, popular with Spaniards and buzzing with a vibrant ambience. Comprising an elegant mixture of classic and contemporary design, it is the perfect place for anyone seeking a rendezvous with the sun or for those in search of some seriously good food. Located in the beautiful Santander Bay and surrounded by the warm waters and sprawling sands of El Sardinero, the town is a hub of cultural activities, with lively bars and restaurants filled with laidback beachgoers. I ventured to the Cantabrian capital to see what all the fuss was about and found myself completely mesmerised by its contemporary appeal. But most of all, I was blown away by the grand charm of the Hotel Santemar. One of the largest hotels in Spain, the Santemar and its exclusive, in-house restaurant, offer guests a luxurious stay in its privileged location.
