The Standard High Line ★★★★
848 Washington Street
10014
New York
United States
The Standard High Line **** sits above the impressive High Line public park in lower west-side Manhattan. The hotel is located with the trendy Meatpacking District, just north of the West Village and just south of Chelsea.
New York is currently served by two main international airports: John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), located around 12 mi (20 km) southeast of Lower Manhattan, and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), located around 15 mi (24 km) southwest of Midtown Manhattan, in New Jersey.
Between them they receive international flights from a large number of airlines and destinations, including from most capitals and many large cities across Europe.
The airports of JFK and Newark are both located within 20-25 km (25-30 minutes) of the hotel, although routes and times depend on often heavy traffic conditions and can therefore be longer.
- By taxi: a taxi is the most comfortable, but not the most economical solution. Above all, be sure to take a real, licensed taxi (choose one from the designated taxi rank at the airport). It costs about $ 50 from John F. Kennedy or Newark airport to Manhattan, plus any tolls on the way and the tip (15 %); all in all, the total cost is usually around $ 70.
- By bus: The NYC Airporter run services between John F. Kennedy airport and the city centre; get off at Port Authority Bus Terminal. (Around $16 One-Way and $29 Round Trip.)
Meanwhile, the Olympia Newark Express runs from Newark Liberty airport to the city centre; get off at Port Authority Bus Terminal. (Around $16 One-Way and $28 Round Trip.)
From Port Authority Bus Terminal, you can take the subway service A, C or E from 34th Street – Penn Station down to 14th Street – Eighth Avenue.
- By private shuttle: You can also take a private shuttle (capacity: 8 people maximum), from Shuttle New York, which will drop passengers off in front of their hotel. You can book in a shared or private shuttle, however you must book before you leave.
- Subway: 14th Street – Eighth Avenue subway station is served by services A, C & E (blue) and is a 6 minute walk from the hotel. When exiting the metro walk west down West 14th Street; then the third left down Washington Street, the hotel will be on the right.
- Bus: The bus stop Hudson W 14th St / Washington St is two minutes down the road from the hotel, served by lines M11, M12, M14A & M14D.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
