View all offersUpon arrival we were shown to our suite, which was individually decorated in warm oranges, reds and yellows. Forged iron furniture and wooden picture rails added a touch of elegance. Some rooms have rich hardwood floors, while others have tiles adorned with beautiful oriental rugs.
In the afternoon, we had our first taste of the Ô Spa – the O clearly standing for “Ooo la la!”. From the names of the treatments to the decorative style, the spa is an incongruous North African-inspired oasis in a land more famous for its cows and apples. There’s an infrared sauna and infinity pool, and also a heated marble exfoliation table which I later tried out. An excellent selection of divine treatments are on offer – I managed to squeeze in a few beauty treatments and my skin felt so much better for it!
In the evening we headed to to the Ô Patio restaurant, where the traditional décor perfectly matches the traditional local cuisine served. It is the perfect place to enjoy a meal in a warm atmosphere, with dishes being made from seasonal local produce. There are also a number of high-quality, traditional restaurants in Pont l’Evêque, and thanks to the proximity to the sea, on a couple of occasions we treated ourselves to some delicious, fresh seafood. While our days started with hearty breakfasts of warm French bread and pastries with freshly-pressed apple juice, most of our evenings ended with a glass of the local Calvados apple-cider brandy!
There are plenty of activities available in the surrounding area from jet-skiing on the Pont-l’Evêque Lake, to seeing the local sights such as nearby Le Breuil castle, or a visit to the chic seaside resort of Deauville just 15 minutes away. We also enjoyed a Calvados experience, just a short walk from the hotel, you can learn all about the process behind making the famous local brandy.
