Room Mate Kerem ★★★★
Mesrutiyet Caddesi Nº 34
34435
Beyoglu, Istanbul
Turkey
The Room Mate Kerem **** is located in Beyoglu, the new trendy area on the European side of the richly historical city of Istanbul. Many attractions lie nearby such as the Galata Tower, Spice Market, the Suleymaniye Mosque, and the wall of Constantinople.
Istanbul currently has two airports: Ataturk Airport on the European side and the newer Sabiha Gokcen Airport, on the Asian side. We recommend choosing a flight to Ataturk Airport, which is a little closer to the hotel.
Atakurk Airport (20 km) is the closest well served intnernational airport, located 45 minutes drive south-west of the hotel. It receives flights from many capitals and major cities across Europe.
We recommend choosing a flight to Ataturk Airport, which is a little closer to the hotel. (Note, get some Turkish Lira before leaving the airport as the buses etc. rarely accept cards.)
From Ataturk Airport:
- By taxi: It takes around 30-60 minutes to get to the hotel, and should cost around 30-60 Turkish Lira (around 10-20€).
- By bus: The bus service, Havatas, departs every 30 minutes and costs 10 Turkish Lira (around 3.50 €) per person. Departures from both the airport and Taksim (in the city centre) run from 4 am to 1 am.
From Sabiha Gokcen Airport:
- By taxi: It takes around 55-90 minutes to get to the hotel, and should cost around 40-70 Turkish Lira (around 15-25€).
- By bus: Similarly, Havatas run buses every 30 minutes (between 4 am to 1 am) from the airport to Taksim, (and between 3.30 am to 1 am returning from Taksim to the airport). Tickets cost 13 Turkish Lira (around 4.50€) per person.
Once in Taksim, it is only a few minutes to the hotel by taxi.
Istanbul is well connected by train, with trains to Istanbul departing from all major cities across Europe and Asia. Trains from Europe arrive at Sirkeci (note that InterRail tickets are valid in Istanbul but only on the European side and not in the Asian region).
It is also possible to make the trip to Istanbul by sea. Arrivals and departures by ferry and cruise ship etc. take place in the Port of Karaköy where there are many international connections. The Karaköy district itself is a major transport hub, commercial district and touristic area.
The E-80, E-90 and Trans-European Network (TEN) are the three main roads that connect Turkey with the capitals of Europe. The E-80 is the main road, which goes from the Turkish border in Edirne to Istanbul and Ankara.
Even though it is possible to enter the city by car, it is not recommended as traffic is incredibly dense.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
