Belgium is served by two airports, Brussels National Airport located in the neighbouring municipality of Zaventem, and Brussels-South Charleroi Airport located between Brussels and Charleroi in Gosselies.
Brussels National Airport receives flights from most capitals and major cities across Europe and is around 90 km away from the hotel. Meanwhile, low-cost airlines (notably Ryanair), operate flights to Brussels-South Charleroi Airport from many cities across Europe.
- By train: The airport express train runs between the airport and city centre, you should get off at Brussels Midi Station. From there, you can take a train directly to Genk. There a three possible trains a day at 10:59am 11:59am and 12:59pm. Make sure to plan enough time to get from the airport to the Brussels Midi station. When you arrive at Genk station, the hotel is literally opposite you (100m). A standard adult ticket Brussels-Midi to Genk, is approx. 14.80€, however if you plan in advance you can get an online web deal ticket for 6€.
- By car: The airport is around 91 km (57mi) from the hotel. In the arrivals hall you will find the desks of the major car rental companies. There is a Ring Road surrounding Brussels called R0 (or E40). The airport is located at the northeast side. Once you get onto the E40 follow the directions to Leuven, continue following the signs to Leuven for approximately 20 min. Then take the exit for the E314 towards Genk /Leuven. Continue on this road for approx. 45 minutes. Take exit 31 for Genk, stay on your left, and then follow the signs to Genk Train Station and the hotel will be on your right (just after the station).
Brussels is easily accessible by train. Arriving internationally, high-speed trains are operated by several companies: Eurostar from the UK, TGV Europe from France and Thalys from a variety of countries including the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands. Some journey times are: Paris (1 hour 30 minutes), London, Amsterdam and Cologne (1 hour and 50 minutes)..
