Paris is served by three main airports: Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), located 25 km (16 mi) to the northeast of Paris, Paris Orly (ORY), located 13 km (8.1 mi) south of Paris, and Paris Beauvais (BVA), around 85 km (53 mi) north of Paris (near the city of Beauvais).
Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly receive flights from most capitals and major cities across Europe. Meanwhile, low-cost airlines (notably Ryanair), operate flights to Paris Beauvais from many cities across Europe.
HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORTS TO THE HOTEL
Getting to the hotel from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport:
- By taxi: Taxis are easily found outside each terminal, be sure to take an officially licensed taxi from the rank. Fares vary depending on traffic, but expect to pay somewhere around €60 (around £42).
- By train: This is generally the most cost-efficient method. The airport connects to the city via Line B of the RER; take the train to St-Michel Notre-Dame and switch to the metro system, taking line 4 (purple) to Odéon. Switch to line 10 (yellow) and get off at Charles Michel. Tickets are €9.75 or €6.85 for children (4- 9).
Getting to the hotel from Paris Orly airport:
- By taxi: Taxis are easily found outside each terminal, make sure to take an officially licensed taxi from the rank. Fares vary depending on traffic, but expect to pay around €30-40 (around £21-£28).
- By train: The airport is connected to RER line B via the bus service Orlyval. The ORLYVAL bus will drop you off at the RER station Anthony. You can take the RER to Denfert Rochereau, switch to the metro and take line 6 (pale green) to La Motte-Piquet Grenelle, before changing onto line 1 (yellow) to Charles Michel. The combined journey costs €11.65 (around £8) and €5.80 (around £2) for children (4-10).
Getting to the hotel from Paris-Beauvais airport:
- By train: Take a taxi (around €11) or shuttle bus (around €4) to Beauvais station, from where the TER line 19 runs to Paris Gare du Nord. From there you can take line 4 (purple) to Odéon. Switch to line 10 (yellow) and get off at Charles Michel.
- By bus: There’s a shuttle bus operating between the airport and Porte Maillot in the city. From there, take line 1 to Concorde then take line 8 (purple) to La Motte-Piquet Grenelle, before changing onto line 10 to Charles Michel.
BY TRAIN
From the UK is it possible to book via Eurostar, otherwise Thalys or TGV operate from other neighbouring counties and elsewhere in France. Most international train arrive at Paris Gare du Nord or to Paris Gare de l'Est.
