We have always loved the countryside of Tuscany – who wouldn’t? – and as we had a big anniversary coming up, friends recommended a place they described as the ultimate in Tuscan luxury and hospitality. We’ve never met anything less than superb comfort and hospitality on our previous adventures in the region, so we were intrigued at the prospect. Well, they were right. The Asilo Masi is a glorious art and antique lover’s dream, set in the magical Tuscan countryside.

The Asilo Masi Hotel is located in the town of Capannoli, just 40 minutes from Pisa.
BY PLANE
Pisa International Airport (31 km) is the closest well-served international airport, located 30 minutes drive northeast of the hotel, it receives flights from many capitals and major cities across Europe.
HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL
By taxi: Taxis are easily found outside the arrivals terminal at the airport. The trip to the hotel will take about 30 minutes and cost between 40€ and 50€.
By transfer: Available from Pisa Airport for 70€ on request and with confirmation from the hotel.
By train: From the airport take the PisaMover Bus service to the Pisa Central Railway Station and then take a regional train to Firenze. Get off the train at Pontedera Casciana Terme and from there you can take a Taxi to the hotel, which will take about 10 minutes and cost about 20€.
By car: From the airport take the Superstrada Firenze Pisa Livorno for about 19km and take the exit for Ponsacco towards Ponsacco/Pontedera. Continue onto Via di Gello and at the roundabout, take the 5th exit onto Strada Provinciale 23/SP23. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the SP 67/Via Variante Srt 439 for about 5km through 2 more roundabouts. At the 3rd roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto SR439 and after 4km turn right onto Via Roma following the brown signs for Parco Pubblico, Villa Baciocchi. Continue onto Piazza S. Bartolomeo and you will see the hotel on the right.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
