Toulouse, nicknamed ‘La Ville Rose’ in France, is an enchanting and charming spot. Named after the pinkish bricks used in the buildings, the city is full of picturesque sites, best seen from its cobbled streets. The buildings range from classic to modern; some almost look Parisian, others with beautiful historic details. Place de la Capitole is the city centre of Toulouse, the city’s spiritual heart and the perfect place to start any holiday to Toulouse. Here you will find Le Grand Balcon, a charming and contemporary boutique hotel, the perfect minibreak spot.

Le Grand Balcon **** is located in the heart of Toulouse, in the old city, near the Place du Capitol.

BY PLANE

  • Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS) is located 6.7 km / 4.1 mi west-northwest of Toulouse, and around 9 km / 5.6 mi (12 minutes') drive from the hotel. It is a fairly well-served international airport, with regular flights from elsewhere in France as well as from a number of capitals and other major cities across Europe, including the UK.

From the airport to the hotel:
    • Bus: take the airport shuttle bus to the city centre and get off at Jeanne d'Arc (taking around 15-20 minutes), it is then less than 10 minutes' walk to the hotel.
    • Car: taxis are available outside the ground level arrivals area (between gate B3 & C1). Otherwise, major car rental services are available, be sure to book in advance!

BY TRAIN

  • Gare de Toulouse-Matabiau is the main railway station in Toulouse, located along the ring road circling the city centre. It is served by France's high-speed TGV train services and it is therefore possible to reach Toulouse by train rapidly from a number of neighbouring countries, as well as elsewhere in France.

From the train station to the hotel:
    • Metro: it is just 2 stops on line A of the metro to Capitole, a few minutes walk from the hotel.
