The rue Dalbade in the trendy neighbourhood of Carmes has some of the best mansions, particularly numbers 7, 11, 18, 22 and 25. The most prestigious is the Assézat mansion that hosts a rich collection of art and can be visited throughout the day from Tuesday to Sunday.
  • For a more modern experience in Toulouse, visit the Abattoirs! This industrial building from the 19th century has been transformed into a museum of modern and contemporary art. The space is almost as impressive as the collection on display!
Quartier Saint-Cyprien, 76 Allées Charles de Fitte
  • For culinary adventurers, the South-West of France has lots to offer. If you’ve already tried foie gras, check out the local speciality cassoulet or for something sweeter, the typical speciality of sugared violets. For sweet treats, try the local confectionary La Bonbonnière.

  • During the Middle-Ages, Toulouse was renowned for its culture and literary richness; this legacy lives on today and there are informal poetry shows (in French) and concerts at the la Cave Poésie René Gouzenne.
