Borgo Scopeto Relais ★★★★

A lovingly restored palace in a landscape fit for the Mona Lisa.

By Jo Weston, VeryChic correspondent
Some art historians believe that the landscape in the background of the world’s most famous painting represents a composite from the artist’s imagination and memory of his Tuscan childhood, others think that it is a specific Tuscan village. However, all agree on the fact that it is in Tuscany! Our romantic journey on this landmark anniversary was not ‘to the middle of nowhere’; it was to the middle of perhaps Europe’s most lovely countryside. In fact, I would even say to one of its undisputed jewels, the Borgo Scopeto Relais ****.
